Landen Edrandson is Lord Balvanish, Chancellor of Talinie.
Landen is the eldest son of Maelgwin Edrandson and his wife Blaese. Maelgwin's death four years ago resulted in Landen becoming Lord Balvanish. Politics in Talinie typically revolves around two issues. Support for or opposition to the guilds, and support for or opposition to Torias Griene. The nobility supports the Thane and the Northern Imperial Temple. However, the realm splits into various factions after that. Opposition to the Hierarch Torias in the temples is led by Siobhan Riedhie. Opposition to the Hierarch at court is led by Landen.
Before Landen succeeded his father, he was known at court for being a strong enemy of Torias. When he became Lord Balvanish, the noble's party got him named to the Council of Talinie. His strong and eloquent arguments impressed the nobles. Those who opposed the guilds and opposed Torias moved quickly to get Landen elected Chancellor by the Council. The Thane was not pleased by that, but respected the will of the noble council.
Landen has a brother, Leland Edrandson, who is the Captain of Bern's Light Horse Guards in Stjordvik.
