I'm going to start a series of polls on Chapter 2. These are designed to help gauge the direction that the project should proceed. The polls will be very simple with yes/no type answers, anything more complicated will run the risk of becoming a useless tool. I will leave the polls open for around 2 weeks in oder to give people a chance to submit their votes. For those who are using the mailing list vice the net page itself, I'm sorry but you'll have to use the board to make your vote. It is just too difficult to try to compile a series of e-mails into a table, especially when it is very easy to use the board for this purpose.
First Poll:
Should the blood ability score be treated as a 7th ability type score?

A simple Yes/No Vote is not enough.
What happens if the majority votes no and we have no alternative, or
none on which another majority can agree?
Better would be a constructive vote in which the possible versions could
be voted for.

The reason for a yes no approach was to eliminate too broad of discussion to determine which way to proceed. The poll results will not depend on a simple majority. Something like twice as many for as against will be used. If the spread is too close than it is obvious that at least one variant will be needed for inclusion.
The results of the poll will determine if another (or what type of additional poll) will be required to tighten up the discussion and direction.
The polls I started were based on the discussion given previously. There was no way to determine a clear path from the discussion boards on these subjects hence the "simple" poll and any future "simple" polls that follow. Too much discussion makes the subject too diffuse to come up with any type of concensus. I am not trying to stifle any discussion, but rather focus it into a direction that will help determine the path to take.
I am a big proponent of the "KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid" philosophy and any time I can find a simplier method to use to accomplish the same goal I will recommend taking it.
These polls are not the end all be all but only the first step. I guess I should have been clearer on that.

I`ve cast my vote, but I feel obliged to make a couple of comments.
First of all, the poll is not written to be even a Yes/No as has been
argued is the best option. The language used seems to be expressed in a
way that reflects a bias. "Yes, I like the concept and the treatment." vs
"No, I object!" That`s going to attract more "Yes" responses because the
term is alone more reasonable.
Second, the poll itself doesn`t have any real meaning because there is no
competing system. I`ve written up the most skeletal outline of an
alternative, but if that`s hardly the basis of an option for the purpose of
polling numbers. The options at present are yes or no, I`d prefer to use
the one in the original materials, or no, I`d prefer to write my
own. That`s not a sound basis for an opinion poll.

You make a new alternative, possibly after discussing what was
unpalatable about the previous offering(s). If you never reach a
consensus on any offering at all - after a reasonable time - it may be
that there should be two acceptable offerings which are acceptable to a
greater majority - that being a majority of something like 75 or 80%.
Better would be a constructive vote in which the possible versions could
be voted for.
Not really, for then you have a set of closed alternatives. Such
"hobson`s choice" alternatives is the work of devious politicians not we
open-minded souls.

If you can't decide wheter to vote yea or nea, don't ... vote I mean. If to few votes have been cast after the two week period it'll be an indicator to wheter the results of the vote are representable of the community

I voted yes on this, but the current treatment of it doesn't work. You have the ability score, but it isn't a true measure of your bloodline strength. If it should be treated as a 7th ability score, then the system needs to be reworked to rely on the Bloodline ability, without the templates.
