The Sword Mage is a person of mystery, though some in the know have speculations about the identity of the Sword Mage. This formidable mage has gained such a reputation that no one dares test him - or her, or it. It is said that the Sword Mage hails from Vosgaard and draws additional power by summoning and controlling fiends. There may be no truth to the rumor, but it is enough to keep anyone from assaulting the magical holdings of the Sword Mage.

The land in the domain of the Sword Mage is well developed and so the source potential is small. Many of his provinces allow only a single holding. On the upper Maesil River, the source potential is higher and Conalier constitutes the Sword Mage's best province with a level 3 holding.

The Sword Mage serves Ghoere fanatically, but acts reasonably in other matters. The mage requires gifts from Ghoere or Elinie to cast realm spells.

The identities of the various candidates for the Sword Mage are not commonly known, but interested and learned parties have their own ideas.
