Rp Spending Limits

Geeman was describing a puppet regent setting where an unblooded regent (in the classical sense of the word, someone who stands in for the blooded ruler) can spend no more than his character level in RP per domain action. [See Domains thread for info on Gary's Figurehead idea]

I don't know if any rules were ever implemented for blooded regents, but it's always seemed that a blooded regent could spend as much RP as was available at any time.

What if a regent could not spend more than his/her Bloodline score in RP's during any single event where RP's are bid (be it his own domain action or to support or oppose another regent's action).

This would add yet another dimension of importance in the strength of one's bloodline concerning political power.

Fiddling around with the amount of RP that a regent can spend on a domain

action definitely makes for an interesting aspect of regency and

regents. I`ve used it mostly to reflect different kinds of shared

rulership models; partners, senate, etc. but I do add character level as a

factor in earning RP. I did that originally for a non-BR campaign in which

there was no bloodline, but adding character level to bloodline in BR also

proved to work just fine.



Whether one uses character level as a factor in earning RP or not when

spending them one could use bloodline strength, character or class levels,

an ability score as the basis, any combination of those factors, or any

combination of them in relation to the number, role or style of government

used by the regents who control the domain. For instance, a "coven" style

of rulership controlling a realm made up of source holdings. It might have

six members, the chief of whom can spend up to his bloodline score on

domain actions, while the rest can only spend their charisma score modifiers.
