Okay, while reading the BoM last night something occurred to me. What
happened to Reynir, Masela, Brenna & Vorynn's divine power?

Anduiras left behind a true bloodline and some pretty impressive
siesegh. Basaia left behind a Huge Siesegh, while Azrai left behind a
slew of true bloodlines.

But we've seen no evidence for True Bloodlines of the other gods, or
Siesegh or what ever. They don't seem to have left particularly more
normal strength bloodlines behind, so what happened?

Any thoughts?

There are Siesgh for the other dieties, they just may not have been found
yet.
I thought about this for a little while, and it could be due to history.
There's been 1500 years, give or take, of bloodtheft and marriage going on.
In bloodtheft, the "donor's" line is gone, and his strength is passed on.
Since the Gorgon ( among others) has been doing this for centuries, his
line of Azrai is strong, while he has culled many other bloodlines.
When two blooded individuals have a child, only the stronger between the
parents is expressed. This isn't done by strength (ie great, tainted,
whatever ), but by the points, so a "minor" bloodline by name could be
stronger numerically than a great.
Also, the Anuireans took over a huge chunk of the continent for part of
its history. During this time, many bloodlines could have fallen in battle
or afterward, increasing the conqueror's strength. Not only awnshegh take
part in bloodtheft.
After the conquest, the native rulers would have declined in power, or
even married commoners, diluting their blood. Then, when the Anuireans
withdrew, it fell to those of weaker bloodline to rule. A lot of rulers in
Brecht lands especially are new to the throne, and come from only
moderately powerful bloodlines.
I would say, though, that we haven't seen the Vos yet. They were never
completely conquored, and may still retain much strength.
That may at least partly explain it, though of course I pretty much made
it up from some small details.

Perhaps they are in another land. Say Anduria.

It could be that their major heros (the dudes who would have recieved true
bloodlines) either died in the battle or shortly theirafter. It could also
be that their bloodlines were diminished over time (via the several ways
that can happen, through inheritance, domain fragmentation, etc.) and that
Roele's decendents were just particularly skilled & lucky in keeping their
bloodline strong until the end. Also, since Anurian's ruled most of Cerilia
for centuries, they had more of an oportunity to strengthen their
bloodlines (thus Avan and Boerune), while the disposesed scions of the
other major civilizations did not; their bloodlines would have stagnated or
even atrophied. Also, as to the Siesegh of other dieties; I would imagine
that the ones listed in the BoM are just examples, not a comprehensive
list. Since the Roele's dominated Cerilia, they had more of an oportunity
to create powerful items with Anduiras' junk; but note that this collection
is all scattered and lost now. Such collections probably were not possible
for other scions, since they didn't have as wide a reach as the Roele's,
they had to make do with whatever fell into their hands, and the stones
remained scattered.

Excellent, logical post by Daniel McSorley. I'm certainly going to
incorporate it into my Cerilian history.

Don't look for Vos bloodlines to be much stronger than the Anuirean-dominated
peoples though. The Vos spend so much time fighting amongst themselves, and the
Priests of Belenik redistribute bloodlines often enough, that their lines have
been severly weakened too. Though a long hidden Great or True bloodline of
XXXXX(pick your fav dead god) rising in the Vos lands to unite them would make
an excellent campaign- the Raven not withstanding.

Wow, ego boosting supreme. Thanks a lot.
I'm really writing to warn you guys. Yesterday, Sepsis posted a link to a
place where you could download Age of Empires. Well, I haven't got that
yet, but I did get the AI Wars game from the same site, and some kind of
program error crashed my computer. It had me scared for a while, too. SO,
if you do try __ANY__ software from that download site, be real careful,
they obviously don't have the resources to test every program they publish
a link to.

Personally my "take" on this is a simple one. The continent of Cerilia is
huge, and TSR can't write up everything. Simply put, they have
concentrrated on Anuire and the bloodlines associated with it. As more
products are released, I'm sure we will see more examples of these other
bloodlines.

In particular I like the recent comments concerning Ruornil's clergy.
Below is a new blood ability of my own creation for Vorynn.

Divine Magic (minor, major, great)
Derivation: Vorynn

This power is availabe only to those blooded scions of Great or True
bloodlines of the old Lord of Magic, Vorynn. The blooded character is able
to draw upon the powerful energies of his bloodline, thus enabling the
scion to empower his own personal spellcasting abilities. At minor
ability, anyone making a saving throw to escape the effects of a spell cast
by the scion does so with a -2 penalty and a reduction in their magic
resistance (if any) of 25%. If the scion himself must make a saving throw
to escape or reduce the effects of a magical spell (or spell-like magical
attack), he receives a +2 bonus to his saving throw. Major ability imposes
a -4 saving throw penalty, a 50% reduction in the victum's magic resistance
(if any), and grants the scion a saving throw bonus of +4 versus magic
attack. At Great ability, divine magic inflicts a -6 saving throw penalty,
a 75% reduction in the victum's magic resistance (if any), and grants the
scion a saving throw bonus of +6 versus magical attack.

So what do you all think ?
