2) This is an interesting idea. I suspect that it might get a little
overpowering. One of the major limitations on the effects of battle spells
is the cost of the components (usually a minimum of 1GB/spell, sometimes a
lot more). If you invade the elven realms, you are going to see a *lot* of
battle spells given that any apprentice can cast Rain of Magic Missiles with
this suggestion.
