View Full Version : New novels

I know there doesn't seem to be much chance of any new Birthright novels in
the future, but, for the sake of expressing my thoughts on the matter (and
because I'm bored), here are some ideas for Birthright novels I have:

As all BR novels are 'historical' (that is, describing past events of Cerilia
and not concentrating on modern adventurers), I have picked a few interesting
parts of Cerilian history:

1) The pre-history of Cerilia, before humans arrived. A novel about the elves
at the height of their glory would be fascinating.

2) The Battle of Mount Deismaar. This is a given. The story of this history-
altering event from the view of someone who was there would be very cool.

3) The story of el-Arrasi, the great mage-king of the Khinasi, who freed his
people from Anuirean dominance. I'd like any novel set in Khinasi, a land
which has been ignored in the novels.

What type of BR novels would the rest of you like to see?

And even continuing that on for the Formation of the Roele Dynasty...
have all of Roeles trials and tribulations immediately following the
battle of Diesmaar. I'd love to see that written out :)

Or any Vos or Rjurik novels - something with the Magian or other
prominent Awnshegh would be nice to see (how the Magian came to Cerilia,
or the Vampire taking over and making his kingdom).

just some idea's
Erik

Well, what do you all think about starting a 'net project', focusing on the
writing of the above? Any who are interested might submit a chapter or a
sentence.

It would probably be very difficult to organize, and arguments are sure to
erupt over whose version is correct, and which events would come first
(...sounds just like my table top games...)
Anyway, I also subscribe to the dragons inn list, which is a mailing list of
aspiring writers who do just this. Somonr starts to write a story thread, and
other people write up a character, and each contributes a paragraph or five to
the story until the thread is complete.
Kind of neat actually. Might be an interesting aside from regular BR gaming...

Just a thought.
