Hi,

Back from an extended absense with renewed interest in Birthright.

How would you describe Regency in a non Cerilian (ie non magical connection to the land) campaign, in a more low magic world?

It would be analogous to Influence or Political 'pull'. Using RP would be like calling in favours, banking on the goodwill of the people or subtly using your influence to see that something happens in the way that you want.

RP would be a measure of the political support a regent has from those he is the steward for. It could be religious support for priests/druids/paladins, the peoples' support for a king (provinces/law), fealty to those in charge (law), the source/RP connection is actually the magical tie that really can't be rationalized otherwise, IMO.
