Well, they hit every few weeks, so I figured I'd finally throw in my own =
"what I want for Birthright".
BTW - Ed, glad to see you on the list again!!
1) The Essence of Evil Duology- even though I have my own "return of =
Azrai" game I'm working on, I want to see what you guys do with it!
2) A more adventure friendly game- there is TONS of non-regency =
adventure potential in the game, and while the regency is my main draw, =
I love the world. Liberally sprinkle any new books with plot hooks and =
mini adventure ideas that you folks come up with. While I certainly =
have no problem whipping up adventures, it still helps to see other =
people's one-liners. Perhaps a few sample mini-adventures: Exploration =
of an Elven Ruin, Convergence of the Shadow World... It would also be =
nice to see a book simply full of commentary on the various sections of =
land and the politics therein. Yes, much of it is open for players, and =
it's nice to have it so open, but I think it might be better to have =
some established stuff and say explicitly "trash it if you don't like it =
- - it's official but it's not unchangeable!"
3) More detail on Aduria and on the history of Anuire. We got =
timelines for the Rjurik, the Khinasi, the Brecht, and I assume the Vos =
(can't find Tribes) but aside from the formerly available Official =
Timeline text file on the defunct web-page, there is almost nothing =
easily available for the Empire. In particular I want to know what =
forces shaped the early Empire, and who were the Twelve Tribes of the =
Andu, did they become the Twelve Duchies? The first supplement to hit =
after Blood Enemies was Sword and Crown! A magnificent idea, that the =
Regents would gather every 5 years, such a massive political =
undertaking!
4) An official Imperial City. Maybe even an entire supplement based on =
it, and who knows, maybe you guys could enlist the folks doing the =
Online City. There's some real talent there, and it means that you =
don't have to be dragged from Alternity and Core Rules.
5) Core Rules version of the Domain Rules. Make is accessible to =
non-blooded folks. Sure they are hindered by not being able to harness =
Regency, but then that's their weakness, they get an XP bonus of +10% to =
make up for it on Cerilia!
6) Definitely a new mass combat system. Warcards is OK. But that's =
about it. It lets you play restrictive battles quickly, but sometimes =
that just doesn't cut it. You can't do selective strikes against =
critical targets. You can't really use the rules system as written to =
make cunning battle plans, or even use terrain to your advantage. The =
best strategy was to pick your ground, and use it to your advantage. A =
more freedom based format would be better, with more definition of what =
makes up a unit, and whether the cost is to outfit or just pay and feed =
these folks. Since this is a fantasy game, there should be some =
attention paid to the possibilities, what if a dragon enters the fight? =
Suppose someone manages to harness enough realm magic to create a =
balloon brigade? Tons of holes could be shot in such an idea, but the =
"what if" still begs.
I'm certain there's more I'd like, but some stuff we just have to do =
ourselves, right?
Later!
