View Full Version : Gorgon`s Alliance CD ROM
Hey Folks,
I just bought The G.A. game, and though I found it to be somewhat
lacking in the areas of graphics and audio (what's with the voices?!?!)
it is an entirely wicked game!!! Mucho way fun!
Anyway, I'm looking for some help with all those patches and a problem I
seem to have with the window size of the game itself. It defaults to a
small (or maybe it is medium) window and I can see all my desktop
underneath. When I tell it to use the Direct Draw thing to bypass and
use the full screen, the thing goes all weird looking (almost as if my
display settings were wrong, but I tried it on each setting.)
Currently, I have Win95, a 17" monitor and 32 Megs RAM. My system
passed all the instal tests too. Can someone help me here??
Also, anyone want to try an online multiplayer game?
Thanks,
Morg

I don't quite understand what your problem is, are you saying that it comes up
in a regular window? If so, then I'm not sure what to do about that, because
I've never had that particular problem.
I'd certainly like to get in a game with you, but don't count on people being
in the lounge often. Theres usually not many if any there.

Hey, Morg. Mine does this, too. It doesn't affect the game, but if =
you don't like it, you have to change your screen setting to 640X480.

Does everyone need a cd to play? If not, count me in!

The game has a problem with anything above directX 3 I believe. I assume
you have version 6 on your machine, so you will need the latest patch if
you want to use direct draw. Try the following link, that leads you to
the final patch which adds some neat features - like the ability to use
the game as a DM tool.

I downloaded the patch, but how can it be used as a gm's tool? Am I just
missing something here?

The Patch lets you create your own regents and modify the domains, thus you can
adjust the game to fit your campaign and then use it to track the events in your
game (entering the actions of any PC rulers as they submit them) saving a lot of
bookeeping
