I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but...
Recently, WOTC made http://www.kargatane.com/ the official Ravenloft page,
after a selection period.
I don't know if we'd have to do the same thing (go through a selection
period/contest).... we should find out.
For those you want to see the official message on the Ravenloft page, I
pasted it here for convenience. It does have some useful information for us
to keep in mind.

On the 2nd June, Cindi Rice of TSR announced the following on the Ravenloft
Mailing List:
>From: Cindi Rice
>Subject: [RAVENLOFT] Kargat Announcement
>To: RAVENLOFT-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM
>
>Hi everyone,
>
>Wizards of the Coast is currently in the process of making some changes
>to its website, expanding and updating some of the content.
>
>As part of that process, I'd like to announce that as of June 15th, the
>Secrets of the Kargatane website (www.kargatane.com) will become the
>Official AD&D Ravenloft Website! The Kargatane will continue to operate
>the website independently, but official TSR news about future Ravenloft
>products will be posted on that site.
>
>Your servant of the Mists,
>Cindi Rice
As mentioned above by Cindi, the Secrets of the Kargatane website will
soon become the official Ravenloft website! We're very excited about the
possibilities once we become the official site (although life with only
one of each internal organ will be interesting), and are looking forward
to working with WotC in the future.
In the meantime, however, we thought you might be interested to know what
effect this is going to have on our little bookshop in Vallaki (apart from
the addition of the Putrid Breathing Green Stuff in the Jar - a lovely
gift from Lady Kazandra).
* How much will the Kargatane website change once it's Official?
Not much initially. Apart from being allowed to use the real Ravenloft
logo, and a few changes to legal comments here and there, you'll notice
few differences after the change. As opportunities arise, though, you may
find a few new features available around the website as we work with WotC
to provide other vaults of knowledge to pillage. We'll also be able to
provide direct links to some Ravenloft material that is available on-line
from WotC.
* Will the Kargatane still be making netbooks?
Absolutely! The Book of Secrets and our other projects will go ahead as
planned.
* Does this mean the Kargatane netbooks are now canon?
No. The Kargatane netbooks (like The Book of Souls, or The Forgotten
Children) are completely unofficial, and are not sanctioned by WotC.
We'd like to sincerely thank Cindi Rice and the others at WotC that have
given us this fantastic opportunity! The Kargatane are extremely grateful.
Of course, if you have any questions about the change, don't hesitate to
let us know at kargatane@kargatane.com
Yours in grief,
The Kargatane
