The idea of a compilation of what's going on in who's world was mentioned on
the list today; this idea sounds really cool to me. My figureings on the
"what has to be done" to make this work is as follows:

1. Either one person has to step up and do this him/herself, or a group of
volunteers
has to set up (each handling a geographic region on Cerilia) and bone up
to the
task. With one person in this group acting as "Editor" compiling all the
final data.

2. All interested DM's (pc's too!) could send the "what's going on in my
game" to the
appropriate address(es), and the person at the other end could sort
through all the
letters and sift out the best of everyone's game. (ie: there are 6 games
going on in
Medoere, the moderator picks parts of the themes from each game and then
compiles it into the actions for that domain as a single whole item)

3. The sifted material would then be collected into one greater document
covering
the entire continent with headings for each region to separate the info.

4. The final product could be uploaded to the list, where everyone could read
it at
their leisure and take what they like for their game (to create news and
events
from other parts of the world than the one they are using).

5. This newsletter (for the current lack of a better world) would be
completed on a
regualr basis, but not a rapid one. I see no reason to have it be any
quicker than
bi-weekly, but am leaning toward once a month. The idea being not to
inundate
people with the news of 30 BR campaigns; but to give them the best of
each
in one lean and useful form; and unless you game daily you don't need it
that fast.

(pant! pant!)

That being said, I'll throw my hat in the ring. Anyone else interested in
lending a hand can contact me through email (gronko@aol.com). I'll post up a
"what's happening with this idea" in a few days to let everyone know if
there's any response.

Hello There

After reading it I came to the idea: what if You Graig will be the moderator?
:). I think there are lot of people willing to send the descriptions.
I bet there will be lots of Roesone stuff as it was first PS published.
Baruk-Azhik will be majorly presented too I think.
I saw there several people around who said they are carrying out their
campaigns in their own world with the BR rules. That doesnt matter I think.
Anyway send the stories. That should be a joy.. :)

Greetings to everybody

That's awesome! We should definately take advantage of this. We could
make the Page such that you, the average player, just clicked on the
area of Cerilia you were interested.

Hell, we should take this idea to TSR! They should go ape shit over
something like this! It would cost them nothing (or rather, very
little. . .space on their web page) and they'd get something in between
a Player's Secrets and nothing! Thus providing something for people in
the interim between Birthright releases!

I like the idea about the Birthright "newsletter".

I'd love to contribute, but I don't run my campaign in Cerilia.
Therefore, I'll volunteer to either be an editor, or to perhaps
coordinate whoever cares to edit the "newsletter".

I have a steady account here at the University, so I should be pretty
dependable. I would be able to handle bi-weekly reports (or EASILY
handle monthly reports). I could also set up a little mailing list if a
group decides to edit instead of just a single person.

Just to kind of set things up, people should probably come forward and
choose an area(s) of the land to focus on, so that people can get a feel
of what's "needed" and what's "covered". For now, we could divide the
campaigns into racial lands (Anuirean, Elvish, Dwarven, Brect, etc).

Anyone else interested?

The Birthright newsletter thing sounds really awesome. Is this going to
be a newsletter type thing issued on the group, or would you all be more
interested in web pages. I have access to a site at a University where I
am on faculty. Making the web pages would not be bad at all if I had the
help of the editors and writers. :) Most simplistically, if people were
to send their reports to me in a ascii text file, or if they do the web
stuff, then they could send me the premaid pages and I could post them.

I suppose that what I am trying to say is that I would volunteer to build
a web site for the Newsletter, if I can get a little help from you all.

I have different sites because I have different jobs. I can do some
interactive programming stuff (see the Questions and Answers Page at the
first site and the Guestbook at the second). I have no qualms about
publishing the stuff, I just cannot do it all alone. :)

Well, think about it!
