Medoere:
With the regent of Medoere somewhere in the northlands, the kingdom is cl=
ose
to falling =

apart. The northern province of Caerwil is once again being invaded by ho=
rdes
of gob-
lins and other nastys from the Spiderfell. Several northern farms have be=
en
destroyed =

and the army has been forced to heavily patrol the northern province to d=
rive
kill any =

marauders before they do any damage. =

In the capital the priest of Rournil have taken to using money, that is
supposed to be =

form important government programs, to fund wild parties at their temples=
=2E And
on top =

of all this the weather over Medoere has grown very cold, and wet. Many p=
eople
of the =

kingdom now believe that they have been deserted by their god.

Roesone:
Goblins working for the spider have raided deep into Roesone this month,
destroying a =

caravan carrying taxes to the capital Proudglaive. Despite the efforts of=
the
Roesone =

army the goblins escaped with their booty. Unit of soldiers in the northe=
rn
provinces =

have been placed on alert to deal with an further goblin raids.
Corruption in the government has grown much worse over the last few weeks=
, but
so far =

the regent has not returned from his trip to deal with the problem.
In other news a civil war seems to have broken out in one of the local gu=
ilds,
the Anur-
ian Trading company, with different members of the guild trying to kill e=
ach
other in an =

attempt to take over the guild. This fighting has been worse in Illien wh=
ere
the head-
quarters of the guild is based.

Diemed:
Diemed rebuilding campaign continued this month with more new soldiers be=
ing
added =

to Diemed now large army. These new soldiers are believed to be based in
eastern Di-
emed on the border with Medoere. It is believed one of the local guilds i=
s
suppling much =

of the resources and cash needed to raise these forces..
In other news a battle broke out off the Diemed cost this month between a=

large galleon =

and two Medoere caravals. One of the caravals was badly damaged and force=
d to
flee =

from the battle before the Galleon broke off the battle. The second carav=
al
pursued the =

Galleon but could not keep up with it. It is believed to have vanished
somewhere near =

the port of Aerele.

Endier:
In a stunning move the nobles of Endier announced that they are the new r=
ulers
of =

Endier and that Adu El-Hadid has been deposed. Many people are refusing t=
o
believe =

this news, especially after the regents bodyguard, the warrior Nekrul Aga=
el,
and most of =

the Endier army have not joined with the nobles and are holding out in Ca=
er
Endier. The =

nobles have raise a large army and a re attempting to take the castle,
although they =

have had little success yet. Of the regent there is no sign, although the=

leader of the re-
bellion General Raymond Vailere is claiming that he personally took care =
of
El-Hadid =

himself.
Several warehouses and other buildings have been burnt down by agents loy=
al to
the =

nobles in an attempt to take control of the kingdoms guilds and control i=
ts
economy. =

Loyalists are still in control of the castle, the treasury, and the city
watchhouse and have =

over 400 soldiers on their side. The noble have assembled a ragtag force =
of
nearly =

1000 mercenaries and personal guards and are attempting to take these
buildings. =

Without the Regents guidance the regular army is unsure which side to bac=
k and
are =

staying in their barracks.

Imperial City:
More trouble in the imperial city this month as the poor who lived in the=
area
devastated =

by the fire three months ago rioted to attempt to get their land back. Tr=
oops
were sent in =

and many of the people involved in the riot were either arrested or exile=
d
from the city. =

The land in question is now being used by one of the local guilds to buil=
d new
homes for =

those who can afford them. A series of accident have been occurring at th=
e
building site =

though, and many are blaming the former residents for the trouble.
In other news this month, travel through Endier is not recommend due to a=

rebellion that =

has broken out there. Much of that kingdoms trade has also been cut as re=
bel
forces =

have closed the border.

Advertisements:
1) The Southern Alliance is seeking allies in all parts of Cerilia. Enqui=
re
within in Roe-
sone, Medoere, Illien, or Osoerde.
2) Mercenaries are required in Endier, great pay conditions, seek Halsar
Gaeraold in =

the Black Rose tavern.

Avanil:
Avanil began moving troop to the border with Endier this month to prevent=
the
fighting =

occurring in the kingdom from spilling over into Avanil.

Spiderfell:
The spider this month renewed his campaign in Medoere and widened his rai=
ds to
in-
clude Roesone. His forces in Medoere have been met with tough resistance,=
but
in =

Roesone early raids have succeeded in taking large amount of plunder. A l=
arge
force of =

goblins is being prepared to attack northern Medoere.

Other News this month:

The Gorgon has ended his attack against the dwarves north of his kingdom =
after
a =

Dwarven raid destroyed his main force and killed one of his lieutenants. =
His
army is now =

returning to the south. Many are wondering if this means that he will now=
be
focusing =

his forces toward Anuire.

Ghoere's armies have been seen moving towards the south this month. Also =
many
new =

soldiers have been drafted into the army. It is still unknown which kingd=
om
has now =

drawn the attention of baron Tael

Ships travelling east from Avanil have reported encountering the Seadrake=
once
again, =

although it seems to have move location from when it was last seen. One s=
hip
was sunk =

after refusing to pay what the monster demanded.

Several heavily laden ships belong to the Anurian Trading company have be=
en
seen =

heading out of Illien, travelling to the east somewhere. It is still unkn=
own
what these =

ships were carrying.

If you or anyone else out there would like to contribute to the newspaper feel
free to do so. Just send me the infomation you would like to add and it will
be in the next post. I am especially looking for infomation form other
campaigns so that I can give my players an idea about what is going on in
other kingdoms.

Why, certainly! Actually, I think birthright is excellently suited for
play-by-email campaigns. Someday, I might even start a Birthright PBEM
campaign myself (He said, and added it to his looooong list of projects
and ideas...:-)).

Great!! I'll forward on your information to my DM. Got a country
preference? Tuornen is the only one taken, although I would dispute that
Alamie is also. My charcater and /or I think we own it. The rest are
open. Let me know.

I don't mean to be a nay-sayer. But wouldn't it be more appropriate to set
this up as a Bard telling tales? I can't see newspapers being printed in
a Renaissance (sp?) setting.

Ahh, but it is a magical Renaissance setting. The newspaper is run by a true
mage (she controls a small source). So mage casts a scribe spell which copies
her voice onto paper. Then casts a duplicate paper spell to replicate the
document.
By the way in my campaign this newspaper is only avalible to the rich and the
regents. I introduced as an easy way to keep the players uptodate on what was
going on in other kingdoms.
