Personally, I think it is a great idea. I will use it in my future
campaigns!

To Dan, the unfortunate ex-fighter/mage... You're a good
sport. How many players would just kill off their characters
if they were in your shoes? I can only encourage you to keep
it up... Maybe a few gaming sessions down the road Mike (the DM)
will reward your character with a nice magic item (hint to Mike...)

:-)

To Dan:

The solution is simple. Hire a Guilder(Lord) to arrainge an "accident" for
Narm (and his wife, if you think it necessary and proper), the
"Weapons-Master." From the quoted Blodd-Oath MJC quoted, you would,
technically, not be breaking your Oath, since, you (your character) would
not be the one actually "harming" Narm. Remember, though, you must take your
alignment into consideration, as well as what you perceive Narm's to be (and
his wife's as well, if you have her "offed"). If you are good and he is evil
or neutral with evil tendancies, (which seems the case to me by his actions
in taking advantage of you) then I, as a DM would rule that as OK. But if
you are lawful good, don't do it. If you are lawful neutral, it would be OK.

I want to let you know a little about the character to staighten some
things out. I am an 11th level mage(spec elementalist), my align is NE
and Narm does not exist as you would think. Narm is an old weaponsmithe
but he was not the powerful enemy I thought he was. His so called wife
is the enemy. She is the one with the power over me. As for the
guildlord he is one of the players in the game and things are sort of in
the works for that one. As for my oath I swore never to use weapons of
human, elven, dwarven or orog make ever again. I will not harn Narm
(who is a weaponsmithe who doesn't even know I exist or that he was
charmed) or his wife who is my powerful enemy and is an elven mage from
what I actually saw of her in the few times I actually met her and by
the way I did battle with her before I knew who she was and she is
definately pretty well off in her abilities. As a group we rule the
land of Halskapa me as the court mage, and also the rest of the party as
the Guild lord , the king, and as the Head Druid. The game has been
pretty good thus far with the exception of my blunder. Hats off to Mike.
you did an excellent job but don't think I will fall for it in the new
game starting next week.
Thank you all
Dan
