Well one must also consider that he did lose some 2000 odd troops by the Holy retribution of Ruornil and can count on support from the OIT to provide more troops.

However pikemen are definetly a must. For a realm like Diemed I can't imagine them having irregulars.

Demanding 20GB tribute from the guilder, isn't that what's also called a death wish? I know that if I was GH, I'd instantly hire an assassin or 50 to get rid of Gavin Tael.

And where does it say that Tael demands tribute from the temples. If Tael does it, why doesn't others do it too?

I'm not sure about the Ally part of MOC. Being an ally with Ghoere, wouldn't that be problematic with the hostile Mhoried next door, where MOC also have holdings?
Different realms would have different arrangements with their temples and guilds. The Baron has one of the strongest armies and is a brilliant and ruthless leader. That he would have more beneificial terms (highway robbery) with the non landed rengents than other realms would is not that suprising. The landed realms should swing both ways, Ghoere is on one extreme while Cariele is on another.

This does provide great strength for Ghoere, but also a weakness. He gets the resources to do whatever he wants, but he also has to keep a tight leash on the guilds and temple. He could probably defeat any of the surrounding realms, and even any two of them (aside from Mhoried), but could also fall from a carefully orchestrated rebellion.

Vassals: Some might be tempted to add the OIT, I would suggest against it. The Imperial temple should wield considerable influence and would not bow down to a Duke, but to an Emperor they would be more accomodating. The OIT should be close allies however. While the OIT might not provide any financial or regency support as vassals they would maintain some troops and agitate to the Duke's advantage (not to mention cast realm spells).
I agree that there should not be a Vassalage agreement between the two of them, as Diem doesn't enjoy the same level of political control over OIT as Avan does over WIT.

I see the relationshiop between the two of them as being symbiotic, with neither having the upper hand and both relying on the other for assistance.

Thanks for the offer to contribute, I will upload my book soon, hopefully to the player secrets downloads section on this site. Diemed is a beloved domain, we can see that from the posts, I hope to do it justice.

Thanks for the great suggestions everyone. I'll add them to the description shortly. Good work so far on this by the way everyone, you've all provided much needed assistance and highlighted several problem and errors I might never have picked up, good work all round.

By the way, I am aware of the situation regarding the scion levels and bloodline scores. The problem is that the changes in chapter 2 haven't been carried over into the Atlas yet. I'll try to fix that up before I post the next realm. The Orgnaisations chapter should have the correct format and bloodline info..
    Let me claim your Birthright!!

I would be very interested in seeing what you came up with, sounds as if you put a lot of effort into it.
