[Birthright] - Undead
All of this recent talk of undead started me thinking. (Very Dangerous)
I do not like the idea of a Major Awnsheghlien getting level drained
by undead. Its too...too...pedestrian,common,tacky.
I have had two ideas on the matter and would appreciate constructive
criticism from anyone, even evil schmucks :) ;
1) Undead recognize the blood of Azrai and avoid it or at least refuse
to attack it.
2) There is a chance equal to the blood score that the draining can be
resisted.

ok, how about a scheme of the undead wanting to actually promote the
domination of Azrai by trying to spread his blood, or to corrupt other
bloodlines?

In order to for this to happen some one or thing must actively promote
it. This some one or thing must have the power to either coerce or entice
others into doing what it desires. I see no agency on Aerbynnis of this
"quality", but on the Shadow World you have the Cold Rider. Can the Cold
Rider aka "the Heart if Azrai" accomplish this ? It depends.
It depends on what you believe the entity is; God, Artifact, something
else entirely ? There is no way to know for sure. My guess is that if
Ghosts are running kingdoms in the Shadow World its because the two
spellcaster types of undead (Liches & some Vampires) have left the
Shadow world for greener pastures leaving only the less powerful Ghosts
and Spectres behind. If that's the case (and I'm on really thin ice here)
then I fail to see how this entity could do very much on Cerilia in a
pro-active sense. It could of course act as an enabler.
Given the difficulty the Magian had in keeping going before being blooded
I would expect there are few if any more liches around. The Vampire is
logically the only one of its kind. That leaves same two types of undead
spirits as above. Again my feeling is possible but unlikely, at least
on a conscious level. But YMMV.

I do believe I read somewhere that it is thought that while Ghosts may be
powerful lords, they may answer to emperors, a role taken by Liches.
