I'm not sure about that, I suppose so. As long as it was alive (more than
tree-level sentience, that is). I could easily see 'the Treant'. There have
also been discussions in my group (more along the lines of poking fun, really)
of inanimate objects getting blooded, and I know of at least one serious
example where a DM did just that.

I'd actually say more. Think about this example:
The gorgon has been around for about a milennium and a half. Let's argue that,
being 3rd in line when the blood got passed out, he started with about an 80.
In that time, let us say that, for example, he raised his bloodline through
mundane means by one point every twenty years for the first 500 (+25). Now let
us also say that every 50 years (two generations, speaking generously), and
killed just 40 bloodline worth of people (that's gotta be generous, that's
about 2-5 individuals). So he gains 20 each on 30 different raids (btw, I
figure that the natural evolution is for people to become closer to their gods,
that is, the bloodline of any house will increase over time, given no
catastrophe...of course, that never happens). So there's another 600 points.
With any reasonable luck, the Gorgon is probably peaking 1000 points now. I'd
say the Gods have about (and I'm using TPO again here) 4000 for lesser and
about 8000 for greater, more since I think they evolve over time as well,
gaining divine power of their own to add to what they inherited.

I would say that they had their own bloodlines. I would say anyone ascended to
the heavens, even from mortal status, would have his own bloodline. Or, more
likely, none. Since most game worlds don't incorporate the bloodlines of Gods,
then they probably weren't 'blooded', except by being divine. For that matter,
I'd say the same is true for the new Gods. By now, I would say that most of the
new ones are probably blooded with derivations of themselves (especially for
ones born after Deismaar). For numbers, again, I would say probably about 5 and
10 thousand, respectively. Probably a little more, since they were supposed to
be extremely powerful. I probably would have put Azrai at about 25k.

Yeah, probably way too powerful. I don't think he abuses it, though (since
you're the guy running him, you don't have to), and hopefully your party isn't
evil, so if they ever get that powerful, they won't use it.

No. Not everything can claim a bloodline. Otherwise there would be
blooded trees and rocks and water from around Deismaar. Not even all races
can be blooded. The Dragon article on "Tarazan the Grey" specifically states
that dragons are incapable of having a bloodline or absorbing divine power.

Check out my write up of the Ifrit (found in the Netbook). At least one of
the theories of his creation says that he came from a fire which had the
blood of Azrai spilled on it...
