Stonecrown Mountains
The mighty Stonecrown Mountains are stark and forbidding, spanning the the area of the Northern Marches from The Five Peaks in the west to the great wall of the Gorgon's Crown in the east. Deep hidden valleys and broken foothills together with dense old forests that cap the barren peaks prevent easy crossing of the mountains.
The mightiest mountain range in Anuire, dense forests, sheer cliffs, fog enshrouded valleys, broken terrain, and peaks that soar thousands of feet into the sky ensure that passage through the mountains is no easy feat. Bands of humanoids and brigands that call no man lord roam these peaks attacking whatever easy prey they can find. Stone and mountain giants are known to inhabit the higher reaches, but fhoimorien are far more common and far more dangerous.
Large portions of the Stonecrowns are claimed by various goblin kings, including Queen Razzik Fanggrabber of Markazor, and King Tie?skar Graecher of Thurazor. Scattered tribes and brigands infest these mountains give loyalty to no king. A menace in places like Cariele or Thurazor, these lawless groups dominate The Five Peaks.
Stone Giants and Mountain Giants are known to inhabit the higher reaches of the range, but giants known as Fhoimorien are recognized as far more common and dangerous here.
