Northeast of Mesire lies a wild forest that has come to be known as the Direwood. It is a place of lurking evil and quick death. The wood has become a place to fear since the Elves and Dwarves ruled Cerilia, but in the last century the forest's reputation has gotten worse. Many people say that a wizard of fallen Djira summoned a fiend to fight off enemy forces from Djafra. The demon made it's home in the wood after slaying its master. The fiend eventually bent the trolls and the fell woodland creatures to its will. Despite the stories, everyone knows that some malign quintessence rules the Direwood.
