Freya Bjondrig

Freya was once a stunningly attractive girl destined for a marriage that would raise the families standing and provide her with wealth for life. The curse of boils which beset last year the girl has left her in despair and hiding from her peers lest they discover the curse and her reputation be ruined. Freya has hired several folk to discretely find a cure but without success.
With every month that she hides within her father?s hall instead of proving her wit and beauty at court, Freya's fears that all the good men will be claimed before she can find one twist and fester inside her. Increasingly desperate, Freya is beginning to try to undermine the standing of her 'rivals' to ensure that they do not 'steal her man' before she can be cured and find him - whoever he might be.
Freya has even begun considering dabbling in magic, distrusted though it is by her family and the druids. Sometimes in her dreams she hears a whispering voice that says she can be cured and have all that she deserves if she simply listens to it and accepts magic into her heart. So far Freya, a well-bred girl has ignored this voice, but her father confiscated a strange book from a disreputable fellow who sought to evade taxes recently and Freya could not stop herself 'borrowing' the book...
