Hláford

Hláford (feminine: Hláday) is a title among the Rjurik which identifies the small local rulers within a province whose original meaning is "guardian of the bread".
In many places, contact with the Anuireans has seen the soft sounds of "h" and "f" disappear, leaving the title "lord", which is also the Anuirean word for the same title.
