The Lady Laera Rowanael is Prince Darien Avan's wife. The last scion of Rowanael family, the former ruling family of Taliern. Her children include Dorien Avan, Aubrae Avan, Julien Avan, Alodia Avan, and Elvina Avan.

Fully a lady of the court, Laera prefers embroidery, knitting and appearing in the Avanese court beside her husband over the vagaries of politics. While she has been known to occasionally offer her husband advice, she remains a quiet and unassuming woman.

With Laera, his one and only love, Prince Darien soared to greatness. Today, Darien Avan lords over the most powerful realm in Anuire and seems poised to ascend the Iron Throne, finally achieving the dream of the Avan family.
