Aebrynis and its Continents of Aebrynis, Aduria and Djapar, Thaele (as well as others unknown to sages of Cerilia) is home to many unusual plants, some of which have mystical properties.
Some of those plants are listed below:
[top]Cuva root
Cuva root is a lumpish round white tuber found in forests home to the Sidhe, it was bred many generations ago by the Gheallie Sidhe who sought to undermine what they perceived as the greatest strength of the goblin tribes who contested with the Sidhe for the forests - the goblins ability to breed rapidly. The root is quite nutritious and so was initially popular amongst the goblin tribes, but the shamans of the gbolins long ago came to understand the tubers effects and decreed that it should not be consumed.
The root impairs fertility and sometimes causes abnormalities in offspring, it is most effective against humanoids such as goblins, orogs, gnolls and humans, has no effect on any being touched by magic (including sidhe, Karamhul and wizards of all races). The effect is generally short-lived and even those who subsist almost entirely on the tuber (milk, the tuber and the odd scrap of meat or fish will sustain most races)
[top]Feybane
A sickly grey leaved plant crowned with white bulbs – the sap of which could be distilled into a venom deadly to elves.
The venom affects wizards, and perhaps 1 in 20 other humans, but not the vast majority of the population. Elves feel sickly when even close to the plant, fortunately for the elves the plant only seems to grow well out of direct sunlight near graveyards and other places of great suffering.
Feybane is native to the Shadow World, those injured by its poison grow listless and weak (-1 con per day) until their spirits are drawn into the shadow world or some cure is found.
